Andy Hutchinson
J. Andy Hutchinson is Executive Director of the Northern Frontier Visitors Association which owns and operates the Visitors Centre and has been a Director of the Society since 2009.
David Jessiman
David Jessiman is an avid collector of northern heritage through books and memorabilia. He works as research specialist with INAC Water Resources and has been a director of the Society since 2009.
Deb Bain
Deb Bain's talent for communications and public relations is a great asset for promotional projects. She was a director of the Society in 2006-2007 and returned as a director in 2010.
Diane Baldwin
Diane Baldwin is a geologist, an avid collector of rock and mineral samples and has an interest in mining-related art and history. She works as an outreach geologist at the NWT Geoscience Office in Yellowknife. Diane has been a director since 2002.
Gord Piro
Gord Piro is the son of Mike Piro, who was an avid explorer of the NWT's mining history. The Piro family has a long history in Yellowknife dating back to 1947. Gord follows in his father's foot steps through his love of northern aviation and mining lore, and supports the Mining Museum through the donation of memorabilia, photos, and mining equipment from the family collection. Gord was a director of the Society in 2003-2005 and returned to the Board in 2010.
John Clark
John Clark is a civil engineer with Williams Engineering Canada Inc. in Yellowknife and his expertise on construction and specifications has been a great asset since he became a director in 2007.
Mike Vaydik (vice-president)
Born in Yellowknife and son of a well-known prospector, Mike Vaydik is vice-president of the Society. For 15 years until 2010, he was spokesperson for the northern mineral industry as manager of the NWT & Nunavut Chamber of Mines. He is now retired and living in Yellowknife. He has been a director since 2002.
Ryan Silke
Ryan Silke is a Yellowknife historian, writer, and musician and has been a director of the Society since 2002. He specializes in research, communications, and photography, and has been responsible for the design and development of various Society projects. Ryan also maintains and keeps track of our collections and is always on the pursuit of stories and donations to add to our archives.
Stephen Clark (coordinator)
Stephen Clark is coordinator of the Society and is responsible for its day to day operations. He has been coordinator since 2008.
Walt Humphries (president)
Walt Humphries is president of the NWT Mining Heritage Society and has been a vocal and active advocate for the preservation of the north's unique and quirky history since he moved to Yellowknife in 1969. He has been president and a director since 2002.
Wayne Bryant
Wayne Bryant is an honorary director of the Society and has been involved with the Society since 2002. He is now retired and living in Ontario.
